Type II, nylon and polyester floor pads. Type II, nylon and polyester pads, shall be made of one piece, unified mat. The materials of the pads shall be formed or bonded into a solid disc. Pads of spirally wound ribbons of interlocking fibers are not acceptable.
Class 1. The abrasive content for the type II,
class 1 buffing and polishing pads shall be no more than 40 percent by weight.
One hundred percent of the total abrasive particles shall pass through a 200
mesh screen. A minimum of 90 percent of we abrasive particles shall pass through
a 270 mesh screen.
Class 2. The abrasive content for the type II, class 2 scrubbing pads
shall be no more than 60 percent by weight. One hundred percent of the total
abrasive particles shall pass through a 150 mesh screen. A minimum of 75
percent of the particles shall pass through a 200 mesh screen. A minimum of 95
percent of the remaining particles shall pass through a 270 mesh screen.
Class 3. The abrasive content for the type II, class 3 stripping pads
shall be no more than 65 percent by weight. One hundred percent of the total
abrasive particles shall pass through a 100 mesh screen. A minimum of 65
percent of the particles shall pass through a 150 mesh screen. A minimum of 45
percent of the remaining particles shall pass through a 150 mesh screen.
Workmanship. The floor pads shall be free from any defects,
imperfections, or material that would adversely affect performance
serviceability or appearance, or may cause any undesirable effects during use.
Quality assurance provisions.
Responsibi1ity for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the
contract a purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of
all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified,
the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial laboratory acceptable
to the Government. Inspection records of the examinations or tests shall be
kept complete and available to the Government as specified in the contract or
purchase order. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the
inspections set forth in the CID where such inspections are deemed necessary to
assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
Inspection. Sampling for inspection shall be in accordance with
MIL-STD-105, Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes, except where otherwise indicated herein.
Visual and dimensional examination .The pad shall be
examined for defects in finish, construction, workmanship, and dimensional
requirements. Defects shall be as classified in Table 1. The inspection level
shall be level II with an acceptable quality level (AQL} of 4.0 defects per
hundred units for major defects and 6.5 defects per hundred units total.
